  1. I agree with Martin Luther King Jr.'s idea to not use violence. Violence really doesn't solve anything. It tends to make problems worse. He figured out a different approach to dealing with racism and discrimination and I think it worked. He showed people by believing in something you can make it work.

  2. I agree with Dr. King's ideas of non-violence. Violence just kills people and doesn't help in any way towards the cause. I think that Dr. King and everyone else will be successful in combating discrimination because if they do something non-violently then people won't die and things will get better for all blacks.

  3. Nonviolent protesting is like Communism - it is great in theory however there are only a select few situations where it is beneficially applicable. In the case of segregation and Martin Luther King, there was a nonverbal societal agreement that outright mass murder campaigns were unlawful. This allowed protestors to further their cause and for the most part remain physically intact. In the case of religiously motivated terrorism (of any denomination), often nonviolence is not the proper solution.

  4. I agree with Dr. King's ideas of non-violence. I feel that somehow they will not work at some point, it depends on what they are using it against. Either way, the white people will still be violent, and will still kill African Americans. It can work, but they just need more support.

  5. i agree with dr. king and no violence because it is the most peaceful way to get what you want. with violence things would get extremely out of hand. i think it is a good method but it is definitely not the best because people are still going to resort to violence to stop what they don't want to happen

  7. I agree that non-violence is the way things should be solved. but i am also aware that as human instinct...when we are attacked, we attack back. It takes a lot of determination to just stand still while being beaten by somebody else. It will be successful against the discrimination combat in America. Because they will get sympathy form other people and also the media because they will be seen as helpless victims of their attackers.

  9. I agree with Martin Luther King Jr.'s idea to not use violence. When a person is non violent towards a violent subject it shows that they are stronger then the rest.

  10. I agree, I think that non-violence is a much better way to get a point across. Violence only makes the situation worse and no one wins. Especially with King's tactics non-violence makes the people that are being violent look bad.

  11. I agree because violence does not get points across. there were many riots that the blacks had caused due to the discrimination they got from whites and when these riots occured the police(usually all whites) would be very violent and beat the blacks. the on-violent solution was a very smart idea.
